Abstract/Summary

Curator Valerie Connor will discuss with artists Tina O’Connell and Neal White the role of amateur and community museums and archives. While public attention usually fixes on larger museums and art centres, local museums constitute a rich, mostly untapped network for artistic interaction and participation. This talk will take the collaborative practice of Tina O’Connell and Neal White as a starting point to consider the roles of artists, curators and commissioners in supporting and drawing energy from the enthusiast museum
