Abstract/Summary

Curated exhibition of two installations by Hong Kong artist duo Leung Chi Wo + Sara Wong: Wong carves emotions and sentiments into paper sculptures, capturing the psychological and physical distance between the two cities. She uses Hong Kong bus routes, whose combined distances equal that between Hong Kong and London as metaphors, evoking a nuanced narrative of movement, displacement, and connection. Leung’s ongoing project, Date Series, began in 2017. He examines newspapers from 50 years ago, identifying sites of violence to visit on the exact anniversary of the event. His research intertwines personal incidents with grand narratives and is presented through drawings, photographs, and videos.
