Abstract/Summary
This essay explores feminist archival praxis, collaboration, and feminist digital humanities to reflect on how building The Modernist Archives Publishing Project (MAPP) has contributed to broader work on women in publishing. Looking at how the process of digitisation and metadata creation helps archival discoverability, the essay highlights the behind-the scenes work of Clara Walker (c. 1885–1934) and Marjorie Thomson (Joad) (c. 1898/9-1931) for the Hogarth Press. We argue that the collaborative labour necessary to feminist digital humanities projects helps us rethink who and what we value in literary and publishing history, transforming how we read and interact with archives in the process.
