Abstract/SummaryThe chapter discusses aspects of scenography in three productions of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot in Ireland: the Pike Theatre Godot of 1955, the 1969 Abbey Godot, and a production of the play by the Irish Theatre Company in 1982. These productions are placed in the context of a broader history of stage design in Ireland during these years, which is an area of Irish theatre history which is just beginning to be critically explored.
