Abstract/Summary

A hetero-polynuclear complex, [{CuLNa}2(μ-1,1,3-NCS)HgCl(μ-Cl)(μ-1,3-NCS)]n {H2L = N,N′-bis(3-methoxysalicylidene)propane-1,3-diamine}, has been synthesized and characterized. The estimated optical band gap indicates that the complex belongs to the semiconductor family. The photosensitivity of the complex is also very high (∼57). This complex finds application in the fabrication of a Schottky barrier diode.
