Abstract/Summary

This paper reviews a number of alternative bases of valuation that can be applied for bank lending purposes. It reviews both concepts of value and applications in practice. It looks at sustainable valuations and recommends that cash flow techniques are a better alternative than Mortgage Lending Value applied in some countries in Mainland Europe.
