To link to this article DOI: 10.1063/1.450040 Abstract/SummaryThe intracavity photoacoustic dye laser spectrum of CHCl3 in the gas phase at 16 350 cm−1 is reported. The v=6–0 overtone of the CH stretch is observed, and found to exhibit a rotational band contour closely analogous to the v=1–0 fundamental. The implication of this result for intramolecular vibrational energy redistribution is discussed.
