Abstract/Summary
For scholars of business and management, understanding the topic of migration and its relationship to social justice is one of the grand challenges of our era (Carens, 2013; Costello and Mouzourakis, 2014). It matters both for such scholars and also for researchers into migration (and immigration) because there is considerable evidence that work and employment are key contributors to integration (Loon and Vitale, 2021; Schaubroeck, Demirtas, Peng and Pei, 2021) and employment (most of the time) comes from business. Where work is located is a fundamental contributor to the type and direction of labour flows and more immediately employment, provides migrants with an independent source of income, with an identity, with a site in which to meet and interact naturally with locals and with an opportunity to advance their well-being. In this sense, business plays a significant factor in migration.
